Seeing Skies Music Video With Macville Productions

Macville Productions
asked me to work on a music video for the band Seeing Skies.  This was my first opportunity to work with a RED ONE camera.  Matthew and Kelly Rogers run Macville Productions.  In addition to the camera they have a whole truck full of grip equipment.  This project also gave me the chance to learn about working with a dolly and track.  The footage looked great, I can’t wait to see the finished video.

Whitechapel Music Video

I was hired by director David Brodsky to work on Whitechapel's new music video coming out June 8th.  I spent the day as David's assistant giving me a great opportunity to learn about using a 35mm lens adapter with the HVX200 as well as the music video business in general.

Transcribing Say Yes to the Dress

Transcribing The Auctioneers for Northsouth Productions.

This winter I am also working on a show called The Auctioneers.  This show tells the stories of buyers, sellers and auctioneers in the Canton Ohio area.
Transcribing this show has given me the opportunity to learn more about conducting and recording a good interview.  I have not only been studying the audio and camera work but also the types of questions that need to be asked and how to get editable responses from the subject.  This experience will help me with my own projects as well as work with future clients.

Transcribing Impassable for Northsouth Productions.

In November 2009 Northsouth Productions contacted me about transcribing some more shows.  First they gave me footage from Impassable, a reality show about avalanche cleanup in Utah. The show focuses on the crew and plow drivers.  This show is particularly interesting to me, it was shot in Cottonwood Canyon, a place I was lucky enough to visit a couple of summers ago.  Impassable will air on TLC.

Interviews and Photography: Caitlin Rockett

We went to Murfreesboro to document the production of Daniel Bloom's music video by 371 Digital films.  The shoot went really well and I got to enjoy significant camera time with a Panasonic DVX100B.  Caitlin shot a great set of production stills as well as conducting interviews with the cast and crew.  We look forward to seeing how the music video and our behind the scenes video turn out.

Little Miss Perfect
Transcriber: Mark Lewis

I was hired to transcribe videos for Northsouth Productions here in Knoxville.  Watching and logging the unedited footage for Little Miss Perfect has given me great insight into the production process behind reality television.  This experience will certainly be useful on future projects I participate in.
