Inspired by my job at Boat N RV I thought a series of used Mark
commercials would be a good way to test out my new green screen and
audio gear. Used in this sense...
Our film for the Oak Ridge Film Festival Seven Day Shoot Out. We were
required to write shoot and edit a musical in seven days. The project
also required us to use a map and the line "I see my reputation precedes
me."
Normally we would not have made a horror film but when we saw the
Knoxville Horror Festival had only a $7 entry fee we couldn't resist.
Jason Lee, Michael Abbott and myself collaborated to come up with a
story that would be a different take on the horror genre. What if the
hero doesn't care about the monster?
Jason Lee, Tom Currie and I produced this short for the Knoxville Films
24 Hour Film Festival. Our requirements were a dictionary, a landlord
and the line of dialogue "try to be incognito when you meet them." We
had a great time making the movie. Jupiter Entertainment won best film
at the festival but since they sponsored the first place prize they
chose to let us have the 2-day camera lighting and audio package rental.
Here is some of the first video and photos from my
yearly trip with my dad. We set out early one morning to catch the
sunrise at Grand Portage on the coast of Lake Superior in Minnesota.
First Day of Planting at Organicism Farms
I shot and edited this short documentary about Organicism Farms a local naturally grown organic produce farm.
Resource Advisory Services Web Videos
I produced this set of short web videos for Resource Advisory Services
describing their company to perspective clients. This project also
came with animated graphics and logos that the client did not have as
well as an updated set of still photos for their print material.
This is one of the last videos I made for my classes at the University of Tennessee. This video is about working on open projects where there is no specific assignment. It is one of my favorites and it was screened at the spring 2006 Handheld Film Festival.
Everyone has to rely on the help of their friends especially when trying to meet the requirements of certain classes. It is hard to get people to full cooperate. Fortunately my actors in this case were extremely helpful. This was a rare opportunity for me to make a narrative film for school, and one of my last chances to shoot on 16mm.

Citizen Kane II 2002
This video was my final project in a high school film studies class at Webb School of Knoxville. The class was about science fiction and horror movies. Reilly Shwab and I, fascinated by the films of Ray Harryhausen, made our own claymation movie. Without editing equipment of any kind our only way of capturing animation was to quickly start and stop an old camcorder. Since then I have digitized the original video and put together a smoother re-mastered version.
